About Maxibu

We're building the operating system for African construction

A platform born from witnessing Africa's construction industry bleed billions to inefficiency, middlemen, and broken trust.

Our Story

It started with a ₦4.8M price shock on a Lagos site

In 2021, a contractor on a mid-scale residential project in Lagos watched his material budget explode by 38% in six weeks. Cement prices surged, his supplier broke verbal agreements, and his delivery trucks disappeared for four days. The project stalled. The investor lost confidence. The contractor lost the contract.

This wasn't an unusual story. It was — and still is — the norm across construction sites from Lagos to Nairobi to Accra. Africa's construction industry is the second fastest-growing in the world, yet operates on infrastructure that belongs to the 1980s: phone calls, cash, trust-on-handshake, and hope.

Maxibu was founded to change this at the infrastructure level. Not with a marketplace alone, not with a tracking app alone — but with a unified operating layer that digitises every transaction, contract, and delivery in the supply chain.

Africa is building faster than ever. It deserves infrastructure that matches its ambition.

Mission

To eliminate inefficiency, opacity, and exploitation from Africa's construction supply chain — by replacing broken analogue systems with trusted digital infrastructure.

Vision

A future where every African builder — from the sole contractor to the large developer — can source, move, and procure materials with the same predictability and trust as the world's best supply chains.

Values

Radical transparency. Builder-first thinking. Pan-African ambition. Relentless execution. We build for the contractor on site, not the boardroom.

Africa's Infrastructure Future

By 2030, Africa will need $1.7 trillion in new infrastructure. Maxibu intends to be the backbone that makes it possible.

We are not building a marketplace. We are building the rails — the trust layer, the contract layer, the logistics layer — that will allow Africa's construction economy to operate at 10× its current efficiency.

Starting in Nigeria, expanding to Ghana, Kenya, Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa, and beyond — Maxibu's goal is to become the default operating system for every construction project on the continent.
